Cells were stressed with 12% ethanol for 1 h, or adapted cells were grown in the presence of 8% ethanol (numbering is according to Fig. 1). Induction or repression factors were calculated by dividing the normalized values of the spots of stressed and adapted cells by the normalized value of the spots in the control.
