Cox models were adjusted for socioeconomic status (quintiles), Hispanic enclave (quintiles), age at diagnosis (continuous), marital status (married, never married, previously married), insurance status (private, public, uninsured, unknown), tumor size (continuous), lymph node (yes/no), tumor grade (low/high/unknown) and first course of treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy); AJCC stage levels I–IV and unknown was included as a stratifying variable.
