Efficacy of lyophilized nanoparticles after long-term storage. (A) Lyophilized nanoparticles of 447e and GFP DNA retained 100% efficacy after 2 years of storage at −20 °C with 30 mg/mL or more of sucrose. Fluorescence micrographs show GFP signal from JHGBM-319 cells after transfection. (B) 447e/DNA nanoparticles retained 100% efficacy after lyophilization with 30 mg/mL or more of sucrose and storage at −20 °C for at least 2 years, quantified by flow cytometry.
