As2O3 reduced osteoblast differentiation of BMSCs. BMSCs were isolated from bones of control rats and cultured in differentiation medium (DM) with 0, 0.5, or 1 μM As2O3 for 5–20 days. ALP activity on days 5 and 7 (A), calcium absorption on days 5 and 14 (B), and osteoblast mineralization on days 14 and 20 (C) during differentiation. Data are presented as mean ± SD of three independent experiments in triplicate. (D) mRNA expression of Bmp2 and osteocalcin (OCN) on days 5, 10, and 14 detected by real-time PCR.
