Intranasal administration of anti-HMGB1 IgG suppressed neutrophilic airway inflammation. (a) Administration of anti-HMGB1 suppressed the infiltration of neutrophils and macrophages into BALF. BALF was collected 24 hours after the last OVA challenge. The number of total and differential cells counts in the BALF of mice in the control, asthma, control IgG-treated, and anti-HMGB1-treated groups were analyzed by counting. The values represent the means ± standard deviations (n = 5). *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 compared with the asthma group. (b) Administration of anti-HMGB1 reduced the neutrophilic inflammation in lung tissue.
