Panel (a) shows the raw data, and panels (b,c) show the results of applying the effective rank method of Shrager [15]. As evident from the panel (c), retaining only one SVD component does not eliminate the significant noise/outlier contributions observed for Δt < 0 and when retaining two components, the reconstructed signal matrix contains noise at almost the same level as the raw data.
