Synchronized L1s were grown for 24 hours on normal plates or, in the case of hmgr-1(tm4368), plates containing 20 mM mevalonate, then transferred to experimental plates and scored after a further 48 hours. Note that paraquat does not cause UPR^mt activation in the hmgr-1(tm4368) mutant unless mevalonate is provided. ***p<0.001 using Student’s t-test.
