(B) Across all study participants, individuals with both monoaminergic risk variants (MAOA-L and at least one ‘short’ allele of 5-HTTLPR) showed the greatest LPP response to unpleasant images (versus neutral images), which (C) was associated with total score on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) in the cocaine participants (with a correlation magnitude higher than the other groups; see Results). Data from healthy controls are not presented in the scatterplot.
