LPS increases plasma concentrations of NUCB2/nesfatin-1 in conscious rats. LPS (100 μg/kg body weight) or vehicle was injected ip during the light phase in ad libitum fed rats chronically implanted with a venous catheter. Blood was withdrawn before and 2, 5, 7 and 24 h post injection and NUCB2/nesfatin-1 plasma levels were assessed by radioimmunoassay. Each bar represents the mean ± SEM of 5–7 rats/group. *p < 0.05 and ***p < 0.001 vs. vehicle.
