The figure depicts a simplified overview of the different stimulus conditions. In the single conditions the singleton is either tilted 22.5° or 67.5° relative to the background lines. In the dual same conditions both singletons have an identical orientation contrast of either 22.5° or 67.5° whereas in the dual different condition the orientation contrast of the two singletons varies so that one is more salient (67.5°) than the other (22.5°) relative to the background lines.
