Brachyspira colitis. In a section of proximal colon (Pig #671) there is a focal area of epithelial necrosis surrounded in the lamina propria by a mixed inflammatory infiltrate composed primarily of degenerate neutrophils, and covered by a thick mat of mucous containing degenerate neutrophils, necrotic epithelial cells, and bacterial colonies.
