β-galactosidase X-gal staining of Ptch-lacZ Hedgehog reporter mice showed different levels of expression between (A, C, E) Traf3ip1 WT and (B, D, F) Traf3ip1GT mutant embryonic day 10.5 embryos. (B and D) The Traf3ip1GT whole mount mutant embryos show a similar pattern of expression though it is much reduced in both the neural and endoderm tubes (indicated by arrow and arrowhead respectively in panel D). (F) Also in 60μm thick sections of the caudal neural tube staining is nearly absent in Traf3ip1GT mutant embryos.
