Mature WT and prM H98A RVPs were produced in 293T-furin cells as in Fig. 4a. Mature RVPs were bound to BHK-21 cells on ice for 90 min and then treated at the indicated pH at 37°C for 1 min to trigger virus-plasma membrane fusion. Cells infected by RVP fusion were quantitated by scoring GFP-positive cells, and the results are shown as percentage of the maximal fusion for each RVP. Data shown are the mean ± SD of three independent experiments.
