The wild type strain Guy11 and isogenic Δfar1, Δfar2, and Δfar1Δfar2 double mutants were grown on minimal medium with fatty acids as the sole carbon sources. The following carbon sources were added to minimal medium; acetate (50 mM) propionate (0.1%), butyrate(10mM), olive oil (1%w/v), oleic acid (50mM) and triolein (50mM) in agar plates, inoculated with a M.oryzae mycelial plug and incubated at 24°C for 12 days.
