^aNineteen canine amelanotic oral sarcomas were excluded from further study based upon the absence of melanocyte differentiation marker expression by IHC (see Table S2). Twenty-seven of 111 oral melanomas were considered low malignant potential (see narrative). An additional 44 low malignant potential melanocytic neoplasms were studied by a board subpanel.
