Rate of formation of oxidation products from cellular DNA. F98 cells were exposed to ionizing radiation (0–4 kGy), DNA was extracted and digested, and the modified 2′-deoxyribonucleosides were quantified by LC-MS/MS analyses. The formation of 5,6-unsaturated products is shown in the upper panel and that of saturated products in the lower panel. Results obtained from five independent experiments (n = 5). The values for the rate of formation of each product in cellular DNA are given in Table 2.
