Comparison of the sensitivity of PL-3994 (Inline graphic), ANP (Inline graphic) and CNP (Inline graphic) to degradation by hNEP solution in vitro. Results are expressed as % of the starting material and are the mean or mean ± SEM of 2–5 experiments. PL-3994 was resistant to degradation by hNEP (92% remaining after 2-h exposure at 37 °C), whereas the natural ligands, ANP and CNP, were rapidly metabolized by hNEP (≤1% remaining after 2 h).
