Under SA epistasis, the relative strength of net selection in males and females is affected by allele frequencies at both loci. The figure shows 1000 runs with starting frequencies drawn at random from a standard uniform distribution (0.05–0.95) and selection coefficients s_m and s_f drawn at random from a standard uniform distribution (0.0–0.15) (r = 0.05, h_m = h_f = 0.2 and ɛ_m = ɛ_f = −0.1).
