Involvement of dissolved O₂ on Fe²⁺-induced O^•₂ generation in HRP reaction mixture. Increase in CLA-CL induced by 50 μM Fe²⁺ was inhibited by two distinct de-oxygenating treatments, namely, by bubbling with N₂ gas (30 s) and addition of 20 mM sodium dithionite (sodium hydrosulfite). Conditions: total volume, 0.2 ml; K-phosphate, 25 mM (pH 7.0); HRP, 1.5 μM; CLA, 4 μM.
