Concomitant association of eIF4E to eIF4G and S6K activity is required for reconsolidation of cued fear memory. Reconsolidation of cued fear memory was tested in mice treated with either vehicle or a combination of 4EGI-1 (100 μm) and PF-4708671 (50 mg/kg; n = 7 per treatment). A, Mice treated with 4EGI-1 and PF-4708671 exhibited a significant decrease in freezing behavior during PR-LTM (*p = 0.041). B, Mice treated with 4EGI-1 and PF-4708671 did not exhibit impaired LTM when the drugs were administered with no reactivation (NR; n = 6 per treatment). Data are represented as mean ± SEM in all graphs.
