Figure 7

Cumulative in vitro release profile of curcumin from LCN dispersions in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) at 37°C.

Notes: Inset: percentage of curcumin remaining within the LCN at the end of the release study. The in vitro release of the three curcumin-loaded LCN dispersions was carried out using a dialysis bag (molecular weight cut-off: 3,500 g/mole), and it revealed a sustained release pattern, especially for LCN-P. Each value represents the mean ± standard deviation (n=3).

Abbreviations: LCN, liquid crystalline nanoparticles; LCN-P, liquid crystalline nanoparticles prepared with polyethylene glycol 400 as a solubilizer; LCN-R, liquid crystalline nanoparticles prepared with Cremophor RH 40 as a solubilizer; LCN-PR, liquid crystalline nanoparticles prepared with polyethylene glycol 400 and Cremophor RH 40 as solubilizers; n, number.
