Table 4.

Continence status and Patient Perception of Bladder Condition (PPBC)

Type of bladder dysfunction Incontinence1 events / day, mean (SD) PPBC score2 mean (SD)
Before After Before After
Neurogenic 3.7 (0.9) 0.5 (0.8) 4.9 (0.5) 2.0 (0.8)
Non-neurogenic 3.4 (0.6) 0.3 (0.3) 5.0 (0.6) 1.7 (0.6)
All 3.6 (0.7) 0.4 (0.6) 5.0 (0.6) 1.8 (0.7)

SD: standard deviation. Before: Mean number of incontinence episodes per day on 3-day voiding diary when initiating study. After: Mean number of incontinence episodes per day on 3-day voiding diary at last follow-up. PPBC: Patient perception of Bladder Condition (scale 1 to 6).

1

The number of incontinence episodes per day was significantly decreased during anticholinergic combination therapy; overall, neurogenic and non-neurogenic patients (p < 0.0001).

2

PPBC scores significantly decreased from start to end of study; overall, neurogenic and non-neurogenic groups (p < 0.0001).
