Black cobra lung lysate exhibited potent activity against Fusarium solani conidiospores. Approximately, 106
F. solani conidiospores were incubated with 1.25 mg/ml lysate of black cobra lungs, liver, gallbladder, and stomach in PBS at 30°C for 48 hours. Next, fungal colonies were enumerated and percentage fungicidal activity was calculated as described in the Materials and Methods section. Fusarium solani spores incubated in PBS alone served as control. Among various organ lysates tested, lung lysates showed optimal fungicidal effects. The data are presented as the mean ± standard error of three independent experiments performed in duplicate. P-values were calculated by comparing results of PBS alone with different organ lysates using student’s t-test. (*) indicates P < 0.001.
