Ranges of salinity, temperature, particle attenuation coefficient (Cp), oxygen and aragonite saturation states were two to three times higher at stations 1200–1500 m (the oceanographically “dynamic” layer) throughout most of the WTOW layer than at (oceanographically stable) > 1500 m water depth.
