ELISA analysis of the binding specificity of epitope mimics displayed on phage. The indicated antibodies (top axis) were immobilized in triplicate in plate wells, and phage clones displaying the indicated αIMs (left axis) were then added to the wells. After washing, bound phage was detected using anti-M13-HRP conjugate. It can be readily appreciated that each of the phage clones reacted specifically with its cognate antibody (top axis), but not with irrelevant/unrelated antibodies.
