TABLE V.

Coefficient for the Power Law Fit to the Fibroadenoma Attenuation Data in the Form of α = α0FN With Associated 95% Confidence Intervals (CI).

Tumor α0 (95% CI) n (95% CI) @ 7.5 MHz
(dB/cm·MHz)
R1 0.44 (0.38 to 0.50) 1.79 (1.72 to 1.85) 3.2
R2 1.11 (0.94 to 1.24) 1.42 (1.36 to 1.49) 3.7
R3 0.99 (0.86 to 1.12) 1.43 (1.37 to 1.50) 3.3
R4 1.00 (0.86 to 1.12) 1.25 (1.21 to 1.29) 2.0

Attenuation data from all five slices of data were averaged to provide one estimate per imaging system, which was then used to fit the power law to the data from all three imaging systems. Estimated attenuation slope at 7.5 MHz is provided for each tumor.
