Arabidopsis seedlings were kept on Kaefer medium either without (−) or with (+) the dense fungal lawn (compare Figure 1A) for 7 d and the chlorophyll content and fluorescence parameters were determined at the end of the experiment. The chlorophyll content per shoot fresh weight, the quantum yield of photosystem II (ФPSII), photochemical quenching (qP), non-photochemical quenching (NPQ), and the maximum yield of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) were measured for wild-type (WT), jar1, and ein3 seedlings. Data are means ± SEs of 6 independent measurements with n = 5 (chlorophyll measurements) and n = 60 for the chlorophyll parameters.
