Wild-type (A) and pfsR deletion mutant (B) cells were exposed to iron limitation for the indicated periods of time. The fluorescence emission spectra were recorded in liquid nitrogen at an excitation wavelength of 430 nm and normalized to the emission intensity at 780 nm. All samples were at 15 µg of chlorophyll ml⁻¹. The experiment was repeated three times. Representative data are presented.
