Erythropoietin (EPO) inhibits 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced activation of caspase-3. Western blot analysis for caspease-3 of extracts from striatum of sham, 6-OHDA-lesioned and 6-OHDA-lesioned plus EPO treated rats. The optical density quantified by densitometry and the value of lesioned side was expressed as percent of unlesioned striatum (lesioned/unlesioned × 100% ± SEM).
