Inhibitory effect of sinefungin (35 μg mL−1) on Streptococcus pneumoniae in vitro biofilms grown at different time intervals (6, 12, 18, and 24 h). Pneumococcal biofilms were grown with 35 μg mL−1 sinefungin at different time points and the biofilm biomasses were quantified by crystal-violet microplate assay. (a) Biofilms grown at 6 h; (b) biofilms grown at 12 h; (c) biofilms grown at 18 h; and (d) biofilms grown at 24 h. The experiments were repeated three times in triplicate. The error bars represent the standard deviation of the mean values. The results were significant by Student's t-test (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.005).
