A two-tissue plus plasma compartmental model representing [¹⁸F]FDG kinetics in tissue. Compartment 1 represents [¹⁸F] FDG in tissue. Compartment 2 represents the phosphorylated FDG in tissue, that is, FDG-6-phosphate. K₁ refers to the rate of delivery of [¹⁸F]FDG to tissue in units of volume of blood per volume of tissue per minute (mL/min/g), and k₂ and k₃ are the transport rate constants in units of 1/min.
