The S. ambofaciens (A) and S. coelicolor (B) strains harboring an empty plasmid pSET153 (Sam and Sco, respectively) as a control or harboring plasmid pSET153-adnAB (Sam/adnAB and Sco/adnAB, respectively) were grown on SFM agar. Genetic instability (represented by papillae) in S. ambofaciens was observed after 12 days of growth. The growth defect of S. coelicolor harboring two adnAB loci was visible from the third day of growth.
