A. baumannii has altered gene expression in the absence of Zur. In order to validate the expression changes identified by RNA-seq, wild-type and Δzur::Km strains were grown under conditions used for RNA-seq. RNA was isolated and cDNA generated. Expression changes for selected genes from the RNA-seq experiment were assessed by qPCR on cDNA prepared as described in the text. The graph depicts fold changes in the Δzur::Km strain relative to the wild type from at least three separate experiments.
