Mice were systemically depleted of CD4+ T cells as described in Materials and Methods. Progression to moderate or severe HSK was significantly (P < 0.005) lower in CD4-depleted mice than in mock-depleted mice (Table 2) at 60 and 70 dpi by a chi-square test.
