Chronic stress affects the levels of proinflammatory cytokines in the circulation. Blood was collected from stressed and control rats and plasma was isolated after centrifugation. Magnetic bead‐based multiplex immunoassay reveals that the levels of (A) IL‐1β, (B) IL‐6, (C) IL‐18, (D) TNFα, (E) VEGF, and (F) MIP‐1α are significantly increased in rats after chronic stress. Data are expressed as means ± SEM (Mann–Whitney, *P <0.05, **P <0.01, ***P <0.001, n =10).
