Kaplan-Meier survival estimates according to anemia status at baseline. Anemia status based on hemoglobin levels at study entry: severe anemia (<8.0 g/dL), moderate anemia (8.0-9.9 g/dL), mild anemia (10.0-11.9 g/dL in women and 10.0-12.9 g/dL in men) and no anemia (≥12.0 g/dL in women and ≥13.0 g/dL in men).
