Effect of T₃ on NHE3 activity in opossum kidney (OK) cells: dependence on translation and transcription. Confluent quiescent OK cells were treated with 10⁻⁷ M T₃ or vehicle for 24 h, and NHE3 activity was measured fluorometrically as Na-dependent cell pH recovery after an acid load (dpH_i/dt).
