Propofol administered to pregnant rats induced impaired learning and memory ability in the offspring rats in the eight arm radial maze task. Rats exposed to propofol in utero made more errors relative to the controls across 5 days of testing (A). There was also a significant difference between groups in terms of the total number of errors over the 5 days of testing (B). Rats exposed to propofol in utero also took longer time to complete the maze (C) and made fewer correct choices prior to first error (D) than age-matched controls. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM.
