Fig. 2.

Mean arterial pressure over time from 30 min prior to through 30 min following 60 min of restraint stress in DHB Sham- (solid squares and lines) and DHB Cort-treated (open triangles and dotted lines) rats. Rats (n = 8 per group) were stressed on days 6, 13, 14, and 15 following the pellet implantation Compared with Sham treatment, DHB Cort treatment significantly increased mean arterial pressure during the period of stress on all days and increased baseline pressure prior to stress on day 15. There were also some time points during the 30 min following stress at which blood pressure was higher in DHB Cort-treated rats compared with Sham-treated rats on days 6, 13, and 15. *P < 005 for Cort-treated relative to Sham-treated rats.
