Lesion size represents the average difference between infected and contralateral non-infected hind footpads (five mice per group). Animals were treated with 13 mg/kg/day of MF for 15 consecutive days beginning five weeks post-infection. Animals infected with L. amazonensis M2269 strain (A), L. amazonensis 2506 isolate (B) and MF150.3-1 mutant (C) treated or not with MF (filled and open symbols respectively). Statistical analysis was performed with One Way ANOVA, followed by the Tukey post-test. * p<0.001.
