Sustained atrial flutter/fibrillation (A) induced by a single premature beat recorded in a coronary-perfused right atrial preparation isolated from a dog with heart failure. (B) Ranolazine (5 μM) terminated the arrhythmia and depressed excitability resulting in failure of 1:1 activation at a cycle length of 300 ms, thus preventing re-induction of the arrhythmia.
