Adult current cigarette smokers were aged 18 years or older, had smoked at least 100 cigarettes during their lifetime, and at the time of the survey, smoked daily or on some days. A quit attempt was defined as report by a current cigarette smoker of stopping smoking for 1 day or longer during the past year in an attempt to quit.
