The thresholds for diagnosing mild or more severe anxiety or depression are from Beck et al^8,9 and Zigmond and Snaith¹¹. HADS score of 8–10 is considered borderline abnormal and a score ≥11 is abnormal¹¹. Numbers in parentheses indicate number of patients with scores indicating mild or more severe anxiety or depression.
