The normalized ratio of granulocytes to lymphocytes (ratio(dx) = ([granulocytes(dx)]/[lymphocytes(dx)])/ratio(d0)) was calculated from absolute cell counts. C57BL/6J (A) and DBA/2J mice (B) were infected with three variants of PR8 with a dose of 2×103 FFU and in addition with a higher dose of the low pathogenic PR8M virus (2×105 FFU). Results are presented as mean±SEM and are based on two independent experiments for the first five days p.i. (n = 10). Statistical analysis is presented in Tables 1 and 2.
