The signal path from sound to hearing sensation. The input stage consists of the microphone and audio preprocessing blocks. MAPping is represented by the signal analysis and stimulus generator blocks. Stimulus delivery is via the receiver-stimulator and electrodes, stimulating the auditory nerve fibers in the cochlea.
