Opposing patterns of response in rostral/ventral ACC and AMY for low arousing stimuli. Increased activity in rostral/ventral ACC (top sagittal image), and decreased activity in the amygdala (bottom coronal image) in older compared to young adults was identified using two-sample t-tests between activation maps for NegLo vs. NeuAll contrast in the two groups.
