In this patient with proven infected left knee prosthesis, the maximum intensity projection image (a) reveals intense uptake of FDG in the medial and upper lateral aspect (arrows) of the prosthesis, which is typical of prosthetic joint infection. Tomographic images (b, c) show the exact locations of these sites at the bone-prosthesis interface (arrows).
