Experimental results on the dielectrophoretic behavior of 1 μm microspheres by applying 1,500 V to a channel with σ0= 0.01 S/m. a) Just when the electric field was generated particles are shown to be trapped in the last posts; b) after 30 s of applying 1,500 V most particles escaped from their dielectrophoretic traps at the end of the post region and flowed to the channel outlet; c) after 30 s of applying 1,500 V to the channel particles are still being trapped at the beginning of the insulators area.
