Sequence alignment of the identified nematode SBP2s. Spirurina SBP2 are longer than Caenorhabditis SBP2s; however, all identified nematode SBP2 lack the SID. The N-terminal extension of Spirurina SBP2s is rich in basic residues. Black blocks indicate positions which have a single, fully conserved residue. Dark gray and light gray blocks indicate conservation between groups of strongly or weakly similar properties, respectively. Numbers indicate the amino acid residue in the polypeptide chain.
