Wild type and Δcps-1 cell wall preparations were incubated with FITC-labelled lectins and the binding of the lectins to the cell walls was monitored by fluorescent microscopy. The lectins used in the analysis are listed along with their binding specificities. The fluorescent signals observed on the cell wall samples were graded as highly fluorescent (++), fluorescent (+) or not fluorescent (-).
